About the Adam Don Foundation

The Adam Don Foundation was formed in March, 2005 immediately after the mountain bike accident that resulted in Adam's untimely death at the age of 35. Throughout his life, Adam demonstrated leadership skills, charisma, and humor. In order to honor his life and preserve his memory, the foundation was formed with the broad mission of helping to make life better for young people.

The Adam Don Foundation is a public foundation and qualifies as a tax-exempt organization under IRS section 501(c)(3). The primary fundraising event is the annual golf outing held each summer at a location in Northern Illinois. Each year, the foundation chooses one or more grant recipients that fulfills its mission.

The Adam Don Foundation has focused its support on three unique organizations with programs focused on making life better for young people in Lake County, Illinois.

First Tee of Greater Chicago for programs at 23 locations

Northern Illinois Food Bank BackPack Program

The Family Shelter at PADS Lake County

The Adam Don Foundation is run by a close-knit group of volunteers. In order to keep administrative expenses to a minimum, the foundation respectfully declines to review proposals from potential grantees at this time.
